Polish-Norwegian cultural cooperation
The project is implemented by the Municipality of Kocierzew Południowy, in partnership with AKKS Trondheim and the Municipal Public Library in Kocierzew Południowy.
The aim of the project is to develop cultural cooperation between artists, participants in cultural life and cultural institutions, to strengthen bilateral relations between Poland and Norway, to develop entrepreneurship in the field of culture, and to strengthen the competence of professionals in the cultural sector in order to improve the management of cultural heritage, as well as audience development and cultural and artistic education of local residents.
The scope of the project includes training, workshops, the organization of concerts and other cultural events, learning to play instruments, and inter-institutional cooperation.
In terms of cultural and artistic education, instrument lessons will be organized to encourage more audiences to play together or give concerts, which will raise their musical awareness. Also planned are vocal or theatrical workshops, folk heritage dance and modern dance, as well as training/workshops on making amateur films.
The folk ensemble that exists at the Library, will go to Norway presenting and promoting the cultural heritage of the region. It will take part in the Festival of Cultures in Trondheim, dance, music workshops.
A group of 30 dancers from Norway will come to Poland, for a joint Final Concert during which they will show the performance «Solidarność -solidaritet» at concerts in Lowicz and Skierniewice. It will feature groups of dancers from both countries.
The project «From striped clothing to fjord» – Polish-Norwegian cultural cooperation will be implemented from September 2022 to October 2023.
The total value of the project is 141,912.32 €, the project has been financed with 120,625.47 € in the framework of Action 2 of the Culture Program financed from the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area and the state budget.
