Every autumn holiday we arrange the band camp LOUD! for girls, non-binary and transgender people between 12-16 years at USF Verftet.
Use the autumn holiday week to get to know new people, try different instruments, play in a band and make your own songs! The camp requires no prior knowledge, and the participants are guided by skilled instructors from the music scene in Bergen. During the week we have band rehearsals, various workshops and you get to know other music enthusiasts. We end the week with a concert for friends and family.
The camp is suitable for both beginners, and is just as fun for those who can play from before. We have everything needed for equipment, so you do not need to bring your own instrument.
We start the week by getting to know each other, before we start the instrument carousel where we try out different instrument. The participants get to try piano, bass, guitar and drums. At the end of the day, participants write a priority list of which instruments they liked best.
Based on the wishes, we divide the group into bands and start making our own songs. Band instructors at the camp guide the bands through the week in both playing technique, songwriting and interaction.
The band camp gives you a deep dive into the music world and during the week we will have vocal training, a songwriting workshop with specialization in rhythms, lyrics and chords, a workshop in band identity where you get to make your own band name and logo, a workshop in norm criticism, a workshop in stage communication, and a concert with a guest artist. The week ends with us playing a concert at USF Verftet. In addition, you get to know many new young people interested in music! We look forward to a social and musical week!
The week
- We start each camp day with breakfast and joint gathering at 09:30 every day except Friday. At 13:00 there will be lunch.
Food is included in the price and you do not need to bring your own food. Fill in any allergies or other needs in the registration form. - We have plenty of breaks throughout the day, but if you need extra breaks along the way, there is room for that.
- We’re done at 16:00 every day except Friday.
- The camp has a total space for 15 participants which will be divided into 3-4 bands.
- Friday is concert day where friends and family can come and watch in the afternoon. This day we start at 12:00 and we are finished approx. at 18:30.
- All bands that are formed at the camp have the opportunity for free band rehearsals with us after the band camp and until the end of the year.

Music activity for everyone
AKKS Bergen does not want economics to stand in the way of participation at our courses. We therefore have a limited number of places that are free for those under 18 and where the family has limited finances. To use this offer, you select this at the courseregistration form.
