GAIN is a music production project under AKKS Bergen with the goal of increasing the proportion of music producers who identify as girls, non-binary and transgender people. The age of the course is 16 to 25 years.
Do you want to meet others who are like minded music producers in the start-up phase, find music collaboration and become part of a positive and inclusive environment? Then GAIN is for you!
A music producer is responsible for, among other things, control of recording sessions, musical guidance of artists, and works with recording, mixing and mastering. AKKS Bergen’s producer course will give you a good introduction to the world of the producer. Here you get knowledge of the technical aspects of a music producer’s job, some prior knowledge is required.
The participants will form a group, which together with an instructor will work creatively in the role of producer throughout the autumn semester. We plan for the course days to be a social meeting place, where you want to work together, exchange ideas and be inspired by each other. Along the way, we will visit various studios and get guest lecturers who provide new knowledge.
Who are GAIN for?
GAIN is for girls, non-binary and transgender people aged 16-25, and is suitable for you who want to develop as a producer together with others. We facilitate a social and knowledgeable program where you get to work on your own projects, introduction and in-depth study of basic topics with course instructors and inspiration from exciting guest instructors.
In order to get the best possible benefit from the course, you must work on your own projects during and between the course days. We plan to show your own work during the course. Regardless of how long or how much you have worked with music production, the most important thing is that you want to develop yourself musically and as a producer, and want to exchange ideas and tips with others.
