The AKKS DJ course teaches you everything you need to get started as a DJ!
You get an introduction to assembly and use of the DJ kit, as well as the different functions and settings on the mixer. You also learn about BPM, mixing and beat mixing. Beat mixing is the art of mixing songs so their tempos match.
The course is held at Det Akademiske Kvarter. You will use their in-house DJ kit during the course, mainly Pioneer CDJ2000 media players and Pioneer DJM800 mixer.
Examples of suitable music genres are house, techno, trance, dubstep, drum & bass, trap, grime, EDM and hardstyle.
Each semester ends with a DJ-set where the course participants get the chance to play live at a club.
You don’t need any previous knowledge to enrol in the course. After the finished course you should be able to play without any guidance.
Our courses are tailored to the skills of the participants. The courses are originally in Norwegian but can be adapted to accommodate the English speaking students.
All our courses focus on the joy of playing music, as well as mastering the instrument on every step of the way. The courses are in small groups consisting of 3 to 4 participants.
